Privacy Policy

HavenZip is built so your files never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means, and the little data we do — and don't — handle.

Your files never leave your device

Every operation — opening, extracting, creating, and converting archives — runs locally in your browser with WebAssembly. Your files are never uploaded to a server, never sent over the network, and we never see, store, or have access to them. You can verify it yourself in your browser's Network tab: no request ever carries your file data.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your files, file names, or file contents. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, we don't build user profiles, and we never sell or share any data.

Anonymous, cookieless analytics

To learn which pages and features are useful, we use privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics that counts anonymous page views. It sets no cookies, stores no raw IP address, collects no personal data, and never receives any of your file data. It honors your browser's 'Do Not Track' setting — when that is on, no analytics events are sent at all.

Settings saved on your device

Your theme (light or dark) and language preference are saved in your browser's local storage so the app remembers them between visits. This stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

The only download

The app downloads its own code and the WebAssembly engines once (then caches them), so it can run on your device. After that, your archive work happens locally — the installed app even works offline.
